Four Ingredient Protein Pudding

This is so good! I’ve been eating this lately as my “last meal” before bed. It really satisfies my sweet tooth and provides the protein I need. I have even used it as “icing” on the chocolate protein bars and clean cookie cake!

Protein pudding is a great idea for getting that added protein into your day while also satisfying a sweet tooth. Sometimes, I just feel the need to end my day with a dessert, and this is a great way to do that without sacrificing my health goals. Greek yogurt is a wonderful option that can be so versatile.

Not sure which protein to use? Try one of our favorite whey protein powders for this recipe.

Fun Flavor Combinations to Try

If you are like me, you love mixing up things to keep your taste buds happy. While I love this using chocolate protein powder, there are tons of other ideas out there that I know you will love. Just keep the ratio the same for the right texture and consistency. When using fruit, fresh is always best, but frozen works in a pinch. Make sure if using frozen, that you add it right before serving so it doesn’t add too much liquid to the protein pudding.

  • Strawberry protein powder with fresh diced strawberries
  • Birthday cake protein powder with sprinkles
  • Coffee protein powder with sugar-free chocolate chips

What? Why would I want my pudding to have the consistency of ice cream or icing? How do I get my pudding to have the consistency of pudding?

    Awesome recipe!
I used to eat a lot of sugar-free snack packs to kill my sweet tooth, but they’re full of yucky ingredients.
Here’s my take on it, it’s a large serving (because I’m a pig):
    – 1 cup of greek yogurt
    – 1-2 tbsp of vanilla almond milk (or plain unsweetened with a dash of vanilla extract)
    – <1 tsp of Truvia (stevia drops work well here, too)
    - 1 scoop of whey protein (I use Kaizen Natural Whey, also sweetened with stevia)
    - 1-2 tbsp of cocoa powder

The recipe is largely the same, except for one ingredient: cocoa powder. The whey I use isn't very chocolaty, so the cocoa powder brings in the deep chocolate flavor. Cocoa powder is key because it adds antioxidants and flavonoids, and adds minimal calories and almost no carbs. (Sidenote: I'm not a carbophobe, I just think carb intake should come from nutrient dense foods like sweet potato and fruit/veg.)

So, for just under 300 calories (again, big serving because I'm a pig), you get 40g of protein, 20g of carbs, and lots of antioxidants.
Compare that to 4 snack packs (yes, 4, oink oink): 260 calories, minimal protein, 35g of carbs, and lots of yuck.
Plus this new pudding is really satiating.
Awesome find! All the best with your blog!

I just wanna say Thank YOU so much for sharing this recipe! I tried it w vanilla whey protein powder and added 1/4c raspeberries and got myself some berrylicious ice cream! 🙂 won't be missing my nightly haggen daz anymore lol.. will deff try diff fruits for my healthy carbs 😉 Thanks again

Mmm...jst made this and couldn't even wait for it to go in the fridge and it is Delicious!!! I am glad I doubled up the ingredients so I can have enough "ice treat" for this hot humid day 🙂 .. For Chantal.. I measured my scoop of protein and half a scoop is about 1.5 tbsp. Also i would suggest stick to the vanilla unsweetened almond milk and you get better flavor without the added sugar and don't need vanilla extract 😉 it is creamier too

Mine is very grainy.. is that normal? I know protein powder is usually grainy but I was just wondering.. thanks!

Hi Sydney! Yes, depending on the protein powder you use it could be grainy. Keep stirring as much as you can but it shouldn’t really affect the taste. I hope you liked it!

Can this recipe be stored in a container and placed in the refrigerator to eat on a daily basis

    • Whitney Carlson says

Hi Janice, You can definitely make this and store it in the refrigerator to eat daily. The only thing I would be concerned about is to remember what the expiration date was on your Greek yogurt so you aren’t eating that too far past the expiration date. 🙂
