According to the Kansas City Star, Mahomes, a toddler at that point, hung out with his dad on the baseball diamond a lot and became infatuated with Rodriguez.

When the quarterback dropped off his girlfriend, he was robbed at gunpoint and had his wallet stolen, according to CBS 19. No one was injured and the suspect was caught and sentenced to 12 years.
